Kings Academy

The Kings Academy was started in 2011 to implement a comprehensive player identification of talent from the Eastern Cape, at grass roots level and develop and educate this talent, therefore assuring that a strong and sustainable base of talent resources remain within the region.

The Academy has been designated to play a key role in the transformation of professional rugby in the region. This applies not only to players, but also coaches, medical staff, other management team members and administration personnel.

The Eastern Cape is a production line of talented young rugby players, emanating from the many proud rugby playing schools. The Academy is critical to the realisation of the vision of assuring that a strong and sustainable base of talent resources remain within the region, in as much as it will be the vehicle through which local talent will be identified and developed.
